Sewing projects!

Since I'm on school break I've been sewing like CRAZY this week!! I don't normally have time to do it so I'm trying to get as many projects done as posibale!

I'm 3/4 done with this skirt I just need to go to Joanns and get I zipper..

I just started & finished a fleece vest.... :-)

My sewing corner of my room...

I hope to get the skirt done and maybe start on another project soon, right now I'm knitting a Christmas scarf, yes I now I'm a little late but at least it will be ready next Christmas! I'm hoping not to finish it to fast because were going on a trip in February and I would like to bring it! But if I do I'll just find something else to knit!

Anyone have suggestions of a fun knit?? I'm not a terrific knitter, but I'm up for a challenge! :-)

Eggnog cookies and Christmas eve

Mom and I made eggnog cookies they're VERY GOOD! Here is the recipe....

Eggnog cookies

1 cup butter softened
2cups sugar
1 cup eggnog
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. nutmeg ( we're not a fan of nutmeg so we skipped this )
6 cups flour
1 tsp. salt

Cream butter and sugar together. Beat in eggnog, salt, baking soda and nutmeg. Add glour slowly until combined . Cover and chill dough for 1 hour. Flour the counter to rool dough out for cut outs bake at 350 degrees for approx. 8 minutes. Makes a huge batch, about 8 dozen I think. (depending on what size your cookies are)

Frosting:
1stick butter, softened
1 lb. powdered sugar
2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 oz. cream cheese, softened

Some friends of ours came over for Christmas eve and we played Apple's to Apple's and then we watched Night at the Museum 2, the movie was very good! We had lots of fun together and after that our family opened My Grandparents gifts....

Warm fuzzy socks!

Merry Christmas!!!!

Question of the day!

I got some great comments on that last question, so thank you!!! I'll have to make some of those treats! :-)
I can't believe that there is only 8 days till Christmas!!! Wow, this year has gone by so fast! ( at least for me )
Well, I'm still doing school, chickens, guitar and..... um.....school! ;-) It will be over with soon though! Yea! I've already finished Science and I'm about to finish History! Well, here is another question of the day.....

What is your favorite Christmas movie or book? ( other than  the REAL Christmas story in the Bible)-

My favorite movie is probably "White Christmas", and my favorite book.... when I was little I always read a book called.. "What is the candy cane?" It's all about how the candy cane is made and about what it means. :-)

Yesterday's doings...

Well.... yesterday I did some chickens chores and one of them was bringing 3 bails of straw out to the barn from our car. If you've never been to our house that driveway isn't exactly close to the barn. :-) I didn't want to make three trips to the car..barn...car....barn...car...barn, in the snow, so I made this....

Then I got ready to go to our church's Christmas service, It was very enjoyable and the singing was great! Everyone had candles and the lights were turned down low as we sang 'O, come O, come Emanuel'
I made rice krispies for the fellowship afterward, I had fun making them the best part is after you put them in the pan, you eat all of the yummy, gooey, warm, rice krispies off the spoon and out of the bowl.

Question of the day: What is your favorite treat to eat at Christmas time? Mine is... um... the Peanut Patties my Mom and I make or... the Christmas cookies that people make that are very soft and they have yummy frosting on them! ( I don't know what they're called ) :-) Mmm...
But, I will have to say that the Summer sausage that we rarely have, but we always have it at Christmas! Is VERY GOOD!!! :-) ( It's a treat! )

Today...

After a fun night with Miranda, I did some school then started on making Christmas cards for family and friends, and wrapped some gifts. It has been VERY windy lately and the snow we got is now frozen! I went outside to do chicken chores and it hurt to go out in the bitter cold. Whew! I'm glad that's over with..but I get to do it bright and early tomorrow! :-) Mom and I made peanut patties and they are so good! Dad came home from Arkansas this evening safely so were thankful of that!

Well, I hope tomorrow we will get the Christmas tree decked out, and maybe I can get some Christmas gifts, since Dad is home we have the Camera back so I will have some pictures of how the weather is here! :-)

Hope you all had a pleasant day! I have to go finish up Math! ( My favorite subject!! I may even do it over Christmas break! Ha ha )

Question of the day: What is your favorite subject in school?

Live Nativity

We went to a live nativity Saturday and it was sooo.. good. We went to this one once before and it was kind of the same as this time, but this time.....

-I jumped right out my coat when the "Roman Guard" slammed his hand on the table and yelled " LET'S MOVE IT!!!" ( I think the people behind me saw me jump and laughed. Oh, well ) =)

- When we started approaching the guards I tryed to keep back from laughing because they were smiling!!! I wanted to go up to them and smile back, but they were the Roman guards and I didn't want to get in trouble.

-Then in the 'Market place' someone was selling a chicken and wanted Allison and I to pet it. She kept saying " Go head and pet it it won't hurt you" so I went ahead and pet it to make her happy. ( Like I care if I pet a chicken or not.) :-)

It was a pretty exciting day!! Has anyone been to a live nativity? If so what was your favorite part? Mine was everything!! I loved it all!
