Homemade Laundry Detergent

We got a camera and I was making Laundry Detergent so I'm going to share it with you. It is a LOT cheaper than buying it at the store, two Gallons cost about 40 cents!!!!!!! The 'Recipe' makes two gal. and works REALLY well!

Homemade Detergent
1/2 Bar Fels Naptha Soap, Grated
1/2 Cup Washing Soda
1/2 Cup Borax
2 Gallon Bucket Water (cold/hot)

Grate 1/2 bar of Fels Naptha soap
Put 1 qt. of water in pot over stove. Then pour soap into pot, and let it dissolve.
When it's all dissolved.....
Pour a GOOD 1/2 cup of Washing soap..and
a GOOD 11/2 cup of Borax in to the pot of soap/water. Stir until it gets thick. ( only takes a few min.)

You will need a bucket of some sort to store the detergent in. We like to use cheese ball bucket. ( for dads work..I wish we would just EAT them here! :-) ) Put a qt. of hot water in the bucket.
Then pour the 'soap' in the bucket..and add 5 1/2 qt. of water to that.

Let that sit for about 24 hours and then it will become solid so you have to squish it up with your hands. We like to store it in those plastic Orange juice containers.
Give it a try!!!! :-)

With the pictures and the instructions, I guess we all could try that! I just don't have any of those BIG BIG jars of any kind and don't like cheese puff balls that much!?!?!?!
